Pastor Jay VanHorn

Rev. Jay W. VanHorn came to ECBC to serve as our Interim Minister on August 16, 2009.  He was born and raised in the Painted Post/Corning New York area.  He accepted Christ in 1974 and four years later gave his life completely over to Him, finding peace, joy and acceptance in the Lord.  Jay began teaching Sunday School in 1979 and was soon serving as the Assistant Sunday School Superintendent.  Rev. VanHorn began his Theological training in 1985 and found his ordination recognized by the American Baptist Church in 1998.  He comes to ECBC after serving congregations from Boston, MA to SW Louisiana.

Jay lives in West Chester with his wife, Larissa and their cat “Paulie.”  Jay and Larissa recently wed in an intimate marriage ceremony in Philadelphia.  Larissa sings in the ECBC Choir and enjoys doing home and hospital visitations with Pastor Jay.

Of serving in Interim Ministries, Jay says, “During my years of ministry work, it has become evident that the Lord has gifted me for working in Churches that are in need of healing and renewed vitality.  There are many congregations that are in need of these as they go through the transitional period between installed Pastors.”

Donna Dunn - Minister of Music
Donna Dunn came to Exton Community Baptist Church in January 1984 as the Director of Music. Donna grew up in the Downingtown Baptist Church, and began her church music ministry at age 15, serving in a Methodist church, a United Church of Christ and a Lutheran church before coming "home" to Exton Baptist. Donna is a native of Downingtown and a graduate of West Chester University with a B.S. in Music Education.

At Exton Baptist she is the organist, pianist and director of the adult choir, and is responsible for the overall music program. The growth in the music program at Exton over the past 20+ years can be seen easily in our Allen organ, Wurlitzer baby grand piano, new choir gowns, 3-octave Schulmerich handbells, and the growth of the contemporary vocal group, children's choir and handbell choir. "It is a blessing to see so many people have the opportunity to use their talents!"

Donna still lives in Downingtown, and just welcomed her first grandchild, Avery.
